McD’s Copy Cat GF Steak, Egg, and Cheese Bagel

I’m just going to come out and say it….my toxic trait is that I LOVE McDonald’s. Not even like in a way that everyone loves McD’s. Like, my husband, had it delivered for my birthday morning, I grab double cheese-ies by the 6 count, and don’t even get me started on chicken nuggets and hot mustard!!! I spend 99% of my time being absolutely annoying about what we are eating/putting into our bodies, staying away from processed foods when we can help it, weighing my food, counting macros, and the other 1% just waiting on my next Mc’D’s meal. I have no in-between. As we like to say around this house “you like what you liiiiiike”. Wellll I LOVE me a steak and cheese bagel and considered having a total meltdown when they took them off the menu only to be sad and jealous that they brought them back to the east coast nowhere NEAR me. Is Philly too far to fly from Dallas for a sandwich……asking for a friend?!?! The amount of time I have spent researching recipes and trying to recreate this sandwich should be embarrassing to me…but it just isn’t. I might actually be more excited about this version because I got to make it gluten-free, know exactly what went into cooking all of the ingredients since I did it myself, and I didn’t have to order it with “NO EGG” only to get said egg that then holds my melted cheese hostage and hurts my feelings when I have to hand it over to my husband. Like all things in life….this isn’t going to taste EXACTLY the same as McD’s, but it’s clooooose and now….you can make it yo’self.

Tips:

  1. I used SUPER thin-sliced ribeye cause it was on sale
  2. I grilled my bagels cause I don’t have a toaster and it was really good that way
  3. I grilled my steak just because I like how it tastes that way do what you like best
  4. When you finish cooking the steak, put it RIGHT ON to the toasted bagel to soak up all that yummy steak sauce that will drip off
  5. Serve this with air fryer hashbrowns and thank me later
